My first Geocache!

“Hey! get dressed!”

“Why?”

“We’re going on an adventure!”

These are the words my sister-in-law heard as I ushered her into my plan. I finally decided to really look into Geocatching and was surprised to see some were right down the road from me! I knew too, that I wouldn’t really know what it was till I tried & found one. Which I was right. Once you find one I think it gives you much more confidence!

I was so lost. She asked me exactly what we were doing and my answer was “that’s what we’re trying to find out”. Checked out 3 different spots and did a quick scan of another. Couldn’t find, well actually we found some stuff, just not what we were looking for and the GPS app i was using would not cooperate, otherwise I think it would’ve been much easier.

We returned home a little bummed and I did some more research and thinking and then decided to go back to the first place which I deemed easiest to find with no coordinance. Lo and behold with some patience, clues, and deductive reasoning I found it!!!!

And got bit by ants : /

So I have found an adventure for myself! But for now I’m having to look for catches that should be fairly easy to find without a GPS, but once I get one…. O MAN! It’s on!  I think I may have an addiction :) he he.

I advise if you can, to try it out. I think it’s going to be a great way to see places and things I wouldn’t normally. Plus with it so wide-spread I’ll always have an interesting thing to accomplish in any place we’re visiting and that’s very exciting!

Also can’t wait to leave some :)

(The rest of the day turned out pretty adventurous as well:)

Thanksgiving Proclamations

I believe that Thanksgiving may be the only true Christian-American Holiday.
Every time one was officially held by the govern of the president it was always for giving thanks to GOD.  In a time of need of wise advise I decided to share a small bit of their words.

George Washington – “also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. ”

Abraham Lincoln – “Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God, the beneficent Creator and Ruler of the Universe. And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations.”

And now from the woman who petitioned 40 years to see a National Day of thanks and is a big part, maybe the part, in why we have it. (Yea, I didn’t know about her either) -“Let this day, from this time forth, as long as our Banner of Stars floats on the breeze, be the grand THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY of our nation, when the noise and tumult of worldliness may be exchanged for the laugh of happy children, the glad greetings of family reunion, and the humble gratitude of the Christian heart. This truly American Festival falls, this year on the twenty-fifth day of this month.”

Happy Thanksgiving Day!!!
Gobble Gobble….

To Blog or not to Blog?

This is one of the main reasons why I figured I shouldn’t start a blog. Lack of post. Granted I didn’t think too many people would come across it, but since they have-makes it worse….    I was also against it because I think there is too much info spread on the internet now. Too many wasted words being thrown out and most pointless and I really didn’t want to add to  that. I find a lot of blogs ANOYING! Yup I sure do, but I gave in and did one. Went to the zoo and decided to start there. Had no idea I would do those info ones where I gained most of my followers either :) Or any of the ones since. Some have been random just to have something up. Like now I guess. So…….. Continue reading

I found a Dino!!

You MUST go to the Mid-America Science Museum.
http://www.midamericamuseum.org/

It’s the coolest Museum ever!!!!!
Located in or near Hot Springs, Arkansas

ok… ok…

So I haven’t really been to very many museums, maybe two or three, if even that and they were all completely different so yea….

But this one is totally awesome! If I lived anywhere near it I’d be there like every day! So I couldn’t live there! ha ha…
Maybe I could settle for once a month….
Maybe :D

At most museums your told No touchy!
But not this one, you get to put your greasy fingers all over everything, well most everything.

If you want a great hands-on experience, maybe learn something new,  need some exercise, or just bored?
GO HERE!
You’ll LOVE IT!
I sure did!  And it was my second time to go :D

That’s right!
You can dig up your very own Dino!
Crawl through the inside of a worm or an “underground” maze.
See what Peter Pan was so fussy about.
Make your own tornado (pretty cool I say) and plenty of other things :D
And yes, It’s fun for all ages (;

The Day I’ll Do Without…

Valentines Day

It should be celebrated by neither Christian nor children.
From its origin in fertility rights to this day-and-age’s actions in sex and one-night stands.

Now-a-days it’s the Holiday that plaques the lonely.
Tells people it’s not ok to be single and that  you must have some form of Valentine, at lease for just this day, or you’re a loser.

The complete opposite of what we should be taught.
Commitment should be an everyday thing and shared with just that ONE PERSON and no other.
Don’t try to fill a void that wasn’t there till you were deceived to think it was.
It’s worth the wait.

Like in Songs of Solomon.
Don’t Awaken Love until it’s ready

Now….
The only way I’d be ok with Valentines Days, is if it was celebrated in the fashion of which it’s named.
                 St. Valentine
A man who risked death to join those who were in love in marriage.
FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES

If it started being a celebration of marriage and the purity there in.
Then and ONLY then, might I consider it.
A day to celebrate commitment.
TRUE LOVE and the patience required.

And we’d have to do our best not to twist and mangle that,
NO!!!! Or we’re back to where we started.

Even then, should it be a holiday?
Or maybe just a time to teach, learn, and emphasize the importance of these truths?

I encourage that you do research on these matters.
St. Valentine: What all he did and stood for.
The origins and practices of this day in Rome. (The Real Day)
Why it was made a holiday and what it’s become today.

I would have done so like at Christmas Time, but then we’d have a really……….
……………………………………………………………………….. long post :D
