“There’s a bird on the roof.”
I nervously stepped out the truck and looked on top of it. There sat a bird much bigger then I expected. A beautiful pigeon with purple and green on its neck. I slowly reached for my phone, so I could try to get a quick photo. It moved a little, but stuck around. Then it started lifting one of its feet up and down like it was saying “My foot, My foot”, so I decided to see if I could pick it up and check on it.
Success, but I couldn’t really look at its foot because it grasped my fingers with them.
Some guy at the gas station asked about it cause he’d never seen someone be able to pick one up. We tried to check it out again, but then boxed it and took it to the job site with us to let it go.
It was having some issues in the box so i had to help it stand and stay still which mostly consisted of it grasping onto my hand. At the job I put it out on some grass and it did this weird circle walk like it was falling down. Tried a few more times and the same thing happened except it climbed up on my foot to stop. Boxed it again, but it couldn’t stand up, so we made it a makeshift fencing in the grass. Luckily we had some actual fencing in the truck.
Stuck it in there and made it a water bowl and then got back to work. After a bit I had a break and I went to check on it. As I was walking over to it, it took flight. It circled a round a few times and tried to land on the power lines and missed. He made another two rounds and then landed. The whole time I was trying to call it back, he he.
It stuck around on the power lines for the rest of the day just watching us.
It made me feel really good this mini adventure.
He was my friend, but 4 a second :)
I named it Pigey :)
It was a much needed encounter, no matter how fleeting.
“Hey! get dressed!”
“We’re going on an adventure!”
These are the words my sister-in-law heard as I ushered her into my plan. I finally decided to really look into Geocatching and was surprised to see some were right down the road from me! I knew too, that I wouldn’t really know what it was till I tried & found one. Which I was right. Once you find one I think it gives you much more confidence!
I was so lost. She asked me exactly what we were doing and my answer was “that’s what we’re trying to find out”. Checked out 3 different spots and did a quick scan of another. Couldn’t find, well actually we found some stuff, just not what we were looking for and the GPS app i was using would not cooperate, otherwise I think it would’ve been much easier.
We returned home a little bummed and I did some more research and thinking and then decided to go back to the first place which I deemed easiest to find with no coordinance. Lo and behold with some patience, clues, and deductive reasoning I found it!!!!
And got bit by ants : /
So I have found an adventure for myself! But for now I’m having to look for catches that should be fairly easy to find without a GPS, but once I get one…. O MAN! It’s on! I think I may have an addiction :) he he.
I advise if you can, to try it out. I think it’s going to be a great way to see places and things I wouldn’t normally. Plus with it so wide-spread I’ll always have an interesting thing to accomplish in any place we’re visiting and that’s very exciting!
Also can’t wait to leave some :)
(The rest of the day turned out pretty adventurous as well:)
Scripture tells us that Jesus is the WORD made flesh, so whatever GOD speaks is Jesus. And if GOD and Jesus are one, then what one says so does the other.
It also informs us that everything Jesus said and did is not all recorded, for it would fill too many books. So maybe he did, but someone clearly pointed out to me that Jesus’ main audience was the jews. They all ready knew everything written in the Old Testament, so there was no need in repeating it.
I see though, that he did speak on it every time he spoke about marriage, because it’s always clear about the sexes.
For example Mark 10:6-9 Really jumped out at me about it.
6: But from the beginning of the creation God made them male & female…..9:What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder (separate).
That’s pretty clear to me.
Then scripture goes on to tell us that all men have sinned and fall short of HIS glory. Pride, hate, thievery, love of money, idols, selfishness, etc. It all separates us from God,
so I ask?
Why should they get off any easier than us?
Children of The Most High God. Raise your voice! Cry to the Maker of your souls. Sing the praise of HIS Glory. The rocks sing, the stars chime, and HIS people sit still mouths sewn shut.
Injustice cries the sun, shame screams the oceans. You will sing of insignificant achievements that you acquire in your own strength, yet the praises to the ONE who gives strength unspeakable is not heard of the lips of those that claim HIM as Lord.
I see a cry rising in the hearts of the true followers of HIS Name. The sound brings shame to the sun, moon, and stars making all of creation sing louder to match HIS Majesty and the Lord of all the creation that is singing begins to lift up His voice with a sound so glorious men cannot hear. The earth trembles with exaltation unto HIS Name, the spirit of men who hear the warning is quickened and all shake in one accord to the living God and the Lord begins to brag of the praise HE receives from the broken and shamed. These are my people, HE begins to say. They hear me and respond likewise. I will lift them up so all can hear the sound of conviction ring through the heavens. My spirit will fill them with power and strength. None that hear can deny the glorious work.
