Scripture tells us that Jesus is the WORD made flesh, so whatever GOD speaks is Jesus. And if GOD and Jesus are one, then what one says so does the other.
It also informs us that everything Jesus said and did is not all recorded, for it would fill too many books. So maybe he did, but someone clearly pointed out to me that Jesus’ main audience was the jews. They all ready knew everything written in the Old Testament, so there was no need in repeating it.
I see though, that he did speak on it every time he spoke about marriage, because it’s always clear about the sexes.
For example Mark 10:6-9 Really jumped out at me about it. 6: But from the beginning of the creation God made them male & female…..9:What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder (separate). That’s pretty clear to me.
Then scripture goes on to tell us that all men have sinned and fall short of HIS glory. Pride, hate, thievery, love of money, idols, selfishness, etc. It all separates us from God,
so I ask?
There were some more things I wanted to research and share with you guys, but some things happened and got in the way. So now I’m going to give some short accounts of some different things. I thought about saving it for next year, but I really wanted to share the thing I heard about the wreath. Continue reading →
The Christmas tree is what got me started on this little adventure of mine. Which has turned out not so little… he he
I watched this movie called “The Perfect Gift” and it gave a lot of different info about Christmas. Pretty good movie too.
Now about the tree, they said that the evergreen was chosen because it represents eternal life and that they cut it down and put it back up as a representation of Christ death and resurrection. AWESOME!!!!
So far I haven’t found anything to back up that last part, but that doesn’t make it not true. That could be someone’s reasoning out there and I’m probably going to adopt it as mine. I was already considering something different with the tree when I heard this. Now I’m all excited about the day when I can personally go and cut down my own tree. I also think it would make for a great task when someone gives they’re life over to Jesus or a kid reaches a certain age.
I think its sad that I’ve been alive for 21 years now and this is the first I’ve heard of this! Actually within this past month I’ve learned how little I and the people around me actually know about the traditions of Christmas.
What does that say about our education or better yet our curiosity?
We’ve been celebrating this our whole lives and know very little.
Surely if your reading this you at least know the truth behind the holiday. That it was originally a pagan ritual and all that and we adopted it as our own and changed it up a bit. Then changed it up some more with the whole Santa feel and well you see where it is today. Anyways, if you don’t, RESEARCH IT!
It’s very important to know why you are doing something and then to decide if it’s still worth doing.
Anyways that wasn’t my plan for this blog. I will blog later on these things along with our other traditions.
But for now, here’s the candy cane story…….
